Ipswich’s newest day nursery opened its doors on Monday 8 January 2018 with staff at The Lodge welcoming the first children into the exciting new rooms full of toys, books and play areas.
Hayley List, The Lodge Manager, said: “We were delighted to welcome some of the children who have joined us. They really enjoyed the water play, as well as puzzles, colouring and story time.”
As well as 2 year olds Olivia and Zach, pictured here, this was also the first day in The Lodge for the staff who will be supporting the children and their families at The Lodge.
The Lodge offers childcare provision for children aged 3 months to 3 years, in the centre of Ipswich on Ivry Street. There are three age ranges: Discoverers, Explorers, Adventurers. It will be open all year round with a week’s holiday in August and at Christmas.
Amanda Childs, Head of Ipswich Prep which is next door to The Lodge, and who has been the driving force behind the nursery, added: “We have been planning this new day nursery for over a year now, and I’m so pleased to see all the hard work of everyone involved finally come to fruition. The new staff team is amazing and the new children were already very settled, which just shows what a home-from-home environment The Lodge is.”
