Early education funding

At The Lodge we currently take part in the funded places scheme which allows parents up to 30 hours of funded early education entitlement each week. Term time only (38 weeks per year).

Eligibility:

  • 9 months–2 years & 2–3 years: Must have a valid eligibility code prior to each term (working parents)
  • Low-income / SEN 2–3 years: Eligible for 15 hours Universal Funding (no extended hours)
  • 3+ years:
    • 15 hours Universal (automatic, no code required)
    • +15 hours Extended (requires eligibility code prior to term starting)
    • Eligibility depends on the child’s age before term starts (e.g. must turn 3 before term start date) For example, Lent term commences 6th January 2026, so if a child’s 3rd birthday is 12th January they will not be eligible for the 3+ years funding until the following term. Children must be of age prior to the term commencing.

Funded session times:

  • Morning: 8:30am–11:30am
  • Afternoon: 1:00pm–4:00pm
  • Max of two sessions/per day (6 hours total)
  • Nursery provision outside these funded hours is payable at the full session rate
